About

My parents, Edith and Wolfram (Red) Abicht, raised me in the Episcopal Church. Highlights of my childhood and youth ministries included singing in the Junior Choir and helping Elin Gratton teach Sunday School. Highlights of my adult years at Christ Church include participating in many of our community service ministries including 3 Cedars/AHAT (both as a volunteer and board member), Family Housing Network hosting, and Emergency Food Network “Hunger Walks”. My other current ministries include, Building and Grounds, Gardens, Greening, OPOP, Altar Guild, and Ushering. In our larger community, I serve on a guild that supports fundraising for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. I love being outside, with hobbies that include golf, skiing, sailing, and gardening.

Arrival at Christ Church

I was baptized as an infant at Saint Mary’s Lakewood. We started attending Christ Church Tacoma in 1968, and Len and I were married by Rev. Patrick Tomter at Christ Church Tacoma in 1985. Christ Church is deeply embedded in my soul.

Fun Fact

My happy place is on a sailboat heading towards the San Juans (whether we get there or not).
