Dr. Paul Tegels

About

Born in the Netherlands, Paul studied at the Conservatory of Arnhem (NL, New England Conservatory (Boston), and University of Iowa, Iowa City. He arrived in Tacoma in 2002 and worked for Pacific Lutheran University as University Organist until his retirement from that position in 2023. 

Arrival at Christ Church

I started as Interim Director of Music in May of 2022.

Fun Fact

I have degrees in organ and choral conducting, but I started on the accordion.
