Every year, Christ Church gets into the holiday spirit by participating in a Christmas collection
drive – sometimes coats, sometimes toys, sometimes food. This year we will be participating in
a gift drive to support the efforts of Power of Two.
Power of Two is an organization, run by Dax, that does direct service to feed and provide care
for the vulnerable in Tacoma, many of whom are unhoused. They are currently using rooms off
of Wells Hall to provide a place for children (of all ages!) to play and for adults to have meetings.
Power of Two provides services to many families, and will be taking toy/gift donations for the
children in those families. Dax has provided us with a list of 75 children and teens. It would be
AMAZING if we could provide one gift for each child! We know that this is a large ask – but we
also know how generous you all have been in the past.
We will have cards in the Narthax with names/ages of the children, and a large collection box.
Please take one (or more!) names and purchase a new toy/gift for them. Gift cards are fine,
especially for the older children. Bring the unwrapped gift, with the name of the child attached
to it, to the collection box. If you purchase a gift card, please put the amount on the envelope.
The last day to drop off toys/gifts will be December 14.
