There are a variety of ways to give at Christ Church, whether it is of your time, your skills, or your income. Our members volunteer help care for our building and grounds, stock the food pantry, setup the church for services, read during the liturgy, advocate for justice in the world around us. Financial pledging is an essential part of our live together as a church family.
The Plate
Offerings put in the Plate on Sunday Morning go to our Outreach efforts unless they are marked as a pledge or directed gift. We do this so that every Sunday we are reminded that our mission is rooted in Jesus, “to bring good news to the poor.” Some months, the Outreach team uses the funds for specific goals. For example, in May of 2025, all plate offerings go to support the Emergency Food Network and our Hunger Walkers.
Why Pledge?
Pledges form the basis of our annual operating budget, but it’s not just about the money: it’s a yearly spiritual and financial commitment to supporting the ministries and work of Christ church. Making a pledge as opposed to making a weekly gift in the offering plate allows us to know we can count on your contribution as we budget for each year.
How to pay your pledge
There are a variety of ways you can pay your pledge:
- You can set up automatic weekly or monthly payments through your bank account. Sending Christ Church a check via the “Bill Payment” feature of your bank account is free and secure for you and Christ Church. To do this, simply add Christ Church as a Payee in your online bill payment service using our address: Christ Episcopal Church, 310 North K Street, Tacoma, WA 98403.
- You can write a check and put it in the offering plate on Sunday. Note “Annual Giving” or “Pledge” in the memo line. If you are traveling, you may mail your pledge.
- You may give online through Tithe.ly. Online giving incurs a small transaction fee which is taken out of your gift. Please consider increasing the total amount to help us defray these fees. Here are the current fees:
