The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances. You may view our current Vestry on our Staff & Leadership page.
According to the Bylaws of Christ Episcopal Church, our Vestry is comprised of 6-15 adult communicants in good standing elected for three-year terms at the Annual Meeting each year. We meet once a month for at least ten months of the year. We are led by the Rector, who works closely with the Senior and Junior Wardens in setting the agenda and focus of the Vestry’s work each year, work which is ultimately guided by our mission. Various ministry teams and committees advise the Vestry as needed. Financial and property decisions are made in conversation with the Finance Committee and the Treasurer.
The minutes of all Vestry meetings, once approved, are available to our parish. Below you will find digitzed versions of our minutes and relevant reports. You may contact the office if you would like to read minutes which predate our digitized content.
