SUMMARY:Keep/Watch for Suicide Prevention: Becoming a Community of Care.

DESCRIPTION:Mental Health Training Opportunity for Young Adults (Ages 20
-40)\n\n\n\nDo you want to help build a church community where people su
pport one another's mental health? Have you wondered what to do when a f
riend or family member is experiencing suicidality? Christ Church Tacoma
is hosting a four-week series to reflect on ways our young adult commun
ity can normalize mental health conversations while learning tools to pr
event suicidality and intervene in active suicidal behavior. We will use
a curriculum from the Keep/Watch Project\, an Episcopal program\, facil
itated virtually by Project Director Holle Tubbs.  Holle (she/her) is a
writer\, speaker\, and ministry leader who currently serves as Director
of Youth Ministries in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. The group will
meet virtually on the following Tuesdays\, 6:00-7:00 PMJuly 28th (first
 session will meet in-person)August 4th1-week break ~August 18thAugust 25
th\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis series is part of a larger pil
ot project around mental health trainings sponsored by The Episcopal Chu
rch\, which will help the church develop curated resources for leaders s
eeking to support young adult mental health. As part of the pilot\, work
shop series participants will fill out a brief evaluation form of their
experience at the end of the series. This data will help the church reco
mmend trainings to fit a variety of young adult ministry contexts\, incl
uding parish-based young adult groups\, campus ministries\, and service
corps programs. We are excited to partner with the Keep/Watch Project an
d The Episcopal Church to host this training.
